South Baltimore Adult High School:
A Fresh Start Toward a Brighter Future
The new South Baltimore Adult High School (SBAHS) in Cherry Hill gives adults 21 and over a fresh opportunity to finish high school. Our students have many responsibilities – from holding down a job to being a parent. Time is precious, so we have developed a flexible approach to meet our students where they are:
- Classes are in-person or online
- Students move at their own pace through classwork
- Students can begin studying at SBAHS whenever they are ready – at different points in the school year
How We Support Students
We provide hands-on support to make sure our students succeed. Services include:
- Child care
- Mental health support
- Assistance finding a job
- Transportation
- Housing
- Crisis interventions
- Referrals to help cover household expenses and outstanding bills
High School Diploma, Certifications, Associate’s Degree
Baltimore City Community College has established a full academic program for SBAHS students to complete their high school diploma. BCCC’s team of respected instructors and workforce trainers provide high-quality instruction.
- Along with academics, SBAHS students can take part in hands-on training leading to certification in 17 fields that earn family sustaining wages – from warehousing and logistics to private security and community health care.
- We offer instruction leading to an Associate’s degree – a key steppingstone to better jobs or a 4-year degree.
Who’s Eligible?
- SBAHS serves adults from across Maryland.
- Students must be over the age of 21 who have not obtained a high school diploma.
- All services are free.

- Baltimore City Community College, which oversees instruction
- Cherry Hill Coalition, committed to building a stronger South Baltimore
